School Building

The school building, pictured above, contains 8 classrooms on two levels, plus a dedicated science lab, combined computer lab and library, and front office. The most recent addition to the school was dedicated in 2002. Each classroom layout is unique, and organized differently by its teachers to best facilitate the learning and exploration of their students.

Administration for the church and school is housed in the school office, which is located near the main doors. All campus buildings are secured and monitored, and parents coming to the school must check in at the office after being buzzed into the building.

Church Building

The church building, which is located across the parking lot from the school, is frequently used for school activities and is also secured during the school day. The sanctuary is on the upper level of the building, and hosts weekly chapel services for Our Savior students. The lower level houses the Fellowship Hall, the gymnasium, and the preschool classroom.

The Fellowship Hall is a multipurpose space with moveable tables, a stage, and an attached commercial kitchen. It is used daily by students as a cafeteria at lunch, and is the primary location where school events and fundraisers are held.

The half-court gymnasium, part of the 2001 building project, is used daily by students for physical fitness classes and for indoor recess when the weather outside is too cold or wet. The science and art fairs are also set up here each year, as well as the annual school carnival.

Grounds

Our Savior Lutheran School is located alongside the church on a 2 1/2 acre campus a block off of George Mason Drive and Columbia Pike. The campus is conveniently located less than 5 miles from both Washington, D.C. and the Pentagon, but is situated on a small neighborhood street in a quiet, tree-lined residential area.

The grounds contain an on-site parking lot, which is partially closed off during school and daycare hours. Parents visiting during the day may park in a few spaces left open near the front of the lot, or along the street. Two playgrounds tailored to different age levels, a small grass field, a basketball hoop, four-square courts, and swings are located towards the back of the campus, away from the road.
